Second player of the week-Kylee McLaughlin, Ole Miss
SEC rude Player of the week-Auburn’s Liz Reich, a graduate student on the right side of Colorado Springs, Colo., averaged 4.50 points and 3.83 finishs per set and posted .347 hit percentage in the series shared against Georgia. In Thursday’s win over the Bulldogs, Reich registered 11 finishs and six total blocks. The next night, he committed 12 finishs and one .409% hit.
SEC co-defensive players of the week-LSU’s Raigen Cianciulli, a graduate student from libero Spring, Texas, led the Tigers with 3.92 assists per series over 13 sets. In the second match of the week, Cianciulli became the SEC’s all-time leader in career digs and has increased his total to 2,161 after a match-high 15 digs in a win over No. 20 Tennessee.
Mississippi State’s Lilly Gunter, a sophomore libero from Oviedo, Fla., anchored by Mississippi State defense vs. Texas A & M with 4.50 digs per set as the Bulldogs ran their winning streak to four consecutive games, all against RPI top 50 opponents. Gunter collected 23 digs, his fourth outing with 20 or more digs in his last six appearances, to go along with seven assists during Saturday’s match.
Second of the week-Ole Miss ‘ Kylee McLaughlin, a graduate student from Carrollton, Texas, averaged 10.83 assists per series and helped lead her team.310 hit percentage in Missouri. In the second game against the Tigers, McLaughlin recorded his seventh double of the season with 33 pitches and a season-long six total blocks.
SEC Freshman of the week-LSU’s Ella Larkin, setter Maiss, Kan., guided the Tigers ” offense to 10.00 assists per series in a 2-1 week. Larkin started the week with 45 assists in a five-set win over South Carolina. After posting 47 assists in the first game against No. 20 Tennessee, he then led Team A.368 hit percentage with 38 assists in a four-series win Sunday against the Lady Vols.
